Brisbane - flood warning - sand bagging

You teach English to children with that mouth?!

lazy editing. my point remains - when you’re facing the worst flood ever, what better to do than to have your mates over and drink some (ginger) beers.

All’s well on top of our hill in Nundah, though a ride on the criterion is out:

Yeah dont trust half of what the media has said in regards to evacuations…they said Strathpine was evacuated…thats a complete and utter lie i was there roughly an hour or two ago and i havent seen it acting more normal than ever. Heaps of people were home with lights on and even at the local Hungry Jacks and Video Ezy it was business as usual…mind you on a ride i did earlier this afternoon i did see a blue shipping container get wedged between a bridge and the water, and got a laugh or two out of a train doing a skid.

Gear heads attention! If you feel generous and want to donate that 200 dollars instead of spending it on a new set of hipsterific shoes or that 80 you were going to spend on a new device that lightly fluffs your ground coffee beans and gives them back massage and a happy ending please donate to Donate to the flood relief appeal : Queensland Government that money goes straight to the flood!

Just looked at this video on The Courier Mail website, look at that beauty of a bike at 0:14

my place is about 400 metres from the river in new farm. i’d say it’s fucked.

Yes, if it gets to 7m, I’d say your fucked too.

the girl and i bailed from our place yesterday in the gabba. we are about 5 metres lower than antmandan and 2 blocks away. went back this morning to clean out the rest of the heavy stuff from underneath the house. house is on 6ft pile-ons so hopefully nothing will get upstairs in a worse case scenario.

in '74 the street inbetween antman’s and my street was 5 ft under. let see what happens in the coming days.

Coronation Drive wheely action. Anyone here?

what heavymetal said

I’ve already left my unit at norman park, garage will end up under water but fingers crossed the water doesn’t rise high enough to reach the first floor.

Boardwalk heading out to Coro Dr. Taken from William Jolly bridge.

Southbank, looking across to the city.

Archive at West End. These pics were taken at 10-11am this morning.

He any one here go under water.
Did Gear go under i can come down sat and lend a hand if any one needs it.

Outside my house on Tuesday. Water from rain & North Pine Dam release
backed up. Got 1m deep at my gutter in 45mins!
Got my cars to higher ground, but low set houses 2 doors down got water throughout.

Might as well put my 29er through its paces!

Honestly have no clue how the PRBC bus was able to go through that water…i should have taken it to get to friggen coles…

Saw footage this morning on Channel 9 which showed 2 guys clearing out a shopfront with fixed gears outside (One appeared to be a white Potential of Hydrogen), then the next shot showing a dude sweeping out the water wearing a cycling cap. Random dudes helping out or did a bike shop go under?

that was kai and his mate (forgot your name dude). rosalie gourmet market. i went down there to help this morning but looks like they have TOO many people down there - so i went over to south brisbane to give dubstep dave a hand

howd u go johnson? not sure what im up to tomoz but your only just around the corner from me, could spare a couple of hours to give u a hand cleaning up if needed

The following pictures were taken at different times over the last few days in my street. We were lucky and had hardly any damage compared to others. Some of the neighbors copped a few feet of water through their houses.

Both johnson and i escaped the flood waters. Deshon st was a river though. I’m still without power and writing messages like this on my phone is starting to give me the shits. I’ll post photos when i get power back. Escaping to melbs nezt week to get Eleanor away from the flood stank and insects.
