Can you ream a 27.0 seat tube to 27.2?

I have a frame with a 27.0 seat tube - would like to it be 27.2 for more seat post options.

Is Joe going to laugh in my face?

depends on the thickness of the seat tube, it can be fine, or a very bad idea depending on how much meat is around the ST cluster

edit:

duh, ignore me. I was confused.

Yes, but it increases internal diameter. i.e. 27.0 becomes 27.2.

What Keith said.

It’s Columbus Genius

yeah, I was confused - too much riding yesterday to think about think too hard about things

Done this on heaps of steel frames, never an issue at all. We’re talking 0.2mm, it’s a only small amount of material.

I’ve had it done by joe cosgrove on sl on my tommasini

Sounds good - I will take it over to Joe and get him to have a look.

Material still needs to be considered, take an unsleeved 0.6mm wall thickness St and remove 0.2mm, then you only have 0.4mm of material left

Actually it’s sl but I had a sp or something seat tube

Diameters. You’re removing 0.1mm of material. Still, nice to know what your OD/ID difference is first up.

^ sorry, fucking Monday.

Joe will be able to measure and gauge the safety of reaming, just don’t let him talk your ear off all afternoon

Allow an 1hr to drop it off at least, I’m usually there 2 haha
Legend though

He is Yoda.
‘Frame with a 27.0 seat tube, have I - it reamed to 27.2 for more seat post options, would like to have. Herh herh herh.’

Or do what I did and ‘ream’ a 27.2 seatpost in anyway, but you should like your first choice of seatpost because it does’t come out.
