Cannonball 2009

Staging in Syd has begun.

Good luck all, may the tailwinds keep blowing, see you next Sat.

(Edit: Sorry for putting yet another photo of Brendan’s calves in the interwebz)

Sorry for piking fellas - my perineum looks like the golden greek has been ripping skids on it, and i have a job interview on tuesday. </excuses>

god speed you! black-tyred emperors

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God* hold you in the hollow of His hand.

And in Brendish

Go n-éirí an bóthar leat
Go raibh an ghaoth go brách ag do chúl
Go lonraí an ghrian go te ar d’aghaidh
Go dtite an bháisteach go mín ar do pháirceanna
Agus go mbuailimid le chéile arís,
Go gcoinní Dia* i mbos A láimhe thú.

I remember when this was just a ride, or train trip…

It’s a plane trip for me. It’s God Damn Hot up here. Glad I’m swimming today instead of spinning that’s for sure.

Another tough day today by all accounts, they did push on a further 30kms than planned though and are spending the night in Badella(?).

Two scratchings so far including the team leader who has a mystery illness.

scooter??
thats no good.

Yeh, stayed at his parents house in Nowra by what I’m told. It would take a lot to keep him off the bike too.

The boys have made it to Eden. Best night of the whole trip in my opinion. Tomorrow to Orbost, hard day crossing about 4 mountain ranges but all through National Park. Must have a beer at Bellbird Creek hotel.

If scooters out then who is fearless leader?

Maybe TC has taken over as Head Honcho??

The crew has rolled into Victoria, 135km to Orbost.

Hot tip is saying Fed Square at 3pm today!

Pic DSC05038 that’s my old hood, Traralgon! Glad I got out too.

yeah, let me tell you, coming in to melbourne was a slightly depressing experience. pakenham, officer, dandenong… not exactly glorious places suitable for our triumphant return…

i think it would be rad to live in a place called Officer.

So you haven’t been there?

more photos up.
