What the hell is wrong with people this week? I’ve had more near misses than ever and people just get angry… who’s responsible for this severe lack of common decency?
Has there been some anti-cyclist propoganda on the box or in the prole press? It just makes no sense to me
Umm, bills/debt, end of year, inlaws, carpark rage, toys ‘r’ us running out of TMX Elmo and not knowing how to tell your 3 year old? Then you see some guy with a big dumb grin on his face, living large and enjoying himself, what do you feel?
Wow we really don’t stand a chance against that kind of directed malice. And the cold eye of reason certainly doesn’t… i guess It’s time to start putting contraceptive in the water supply.
This morning I was riding to work with my g/f on her new bike that I gave her for christmas. She hasn’t owned a bike since she was 10 and knows nothing about road rules in Australia so I’m a little protective, making sure she’s not too close to parked cars etc… then out of no-where comes this moron turning right into a street we were passing (we had right of way). The bitch in the car then proceeds to screach to a halt and start honking at us, whilst yelling abuse out her window.
Being in a protective state of mind I couldn’t let this slide. So I chase the car down (which incidentally took 2 blocks, kind of funny to be able to catch someone that quickly when they were in such a hurry) and hurl similar abuse back at the driver and then ask what her problem is.
To which she replies, “You were in my way.” I’d cooled down a little by this point so I replied that we, as cyclists, have the same right of way as any car on the road, meaning we had right of way. She then said something unintelligible and drove off.
I still can’t fathom how she could possibly think she had right of way. Just goes to prove once again that people are stupid.
Now now Spuddy I’m not sure that will get you to far. What I like to do is take down their rego number, find out where they live, then go let down all their tyres!
wednesday i came off because of those bloody tram tracks (I was a virgin) the only person who stopped was a motorbike rider who did a u turn to check on me as i lay face down on the road - The cars? They drove around me a kept going - better than over i guess!
The today the BEST!
Ok I was slightly at fault - I was going the wrong way up a one way street but this guy decided to swerve into me as he was driving towards me and nudged me into a parked car and then speed off - I hit the parked car - A group of on lookers said ‘fucking hell’…
There was plenty of room to fit a double decker bus down that road - I turned around and chased the fucker who took a quick left and he then went to take another left but must have realised he would have got stuck at the lights on high street and chapel street so reversed and whipped right down to punt road end - No chance of catching him - Best part about it was that he had a child onboard - I wanted to catch him and say imagine if someone did that to your child… too late he was gone…
Bastards in cars - was too crazy with anger that I could not remember his rego plate - gold mazda of something though with child shades on the back left side!
I am going to carry bright pink spray paint from here on in - next time i am going to spray the bastards cars as i race on past!!
i came as close today to dying as i have for a while.
pulled up at a set of lights and for the first time in i don’t know how long, didn’t just skip round to the front. was trackstanding behind the one car that that was waiting and heard a loud and continuing skreech of brakes from behind. didn’t turn to look, didn’t think, just jumped me and my bike out into oncoming traffic.
and from behind, at about 40 KpH, a young driver ploughed into the stopped car. he misse my rear wheel by about 6 inches, and hit the stopped car so hard that he pushed it all the way across the intersection.
and left me with cars slamming on brakes all around me.
if i’d looked, or hesitated in any way, i’d be dead now,
drivers comment.
i didn’t realise there was a set of lights there…
