I’m currently trying to run with an idea to run my roadie with a ‘flat bar’ (nitto north/albatross or their cheaper alternatives).
My dilemma is I have gone out and purchased 10 speed chorus FD/RD. After searching the internet it appears trying to convert this set up to flat bar will be a very costly exercise and price wise not really something I can commit to.
The only options I have identified at the moment are
Campag Veloce 10 speed flat bar shifters @ about 200$
Campag bar end shifters @ 200$
Paul thumbies… expensive again
So is there any other options out there? Or have you guys/gals attempted something similar? Would any shimano shifters work well enough?
If the entry price to Campy is too pricey for you it might be cheaper to onsell your derailleurs and swap to Sramano. Campy shifters and hubs are never cheap.
Parts are expensive for me right now yes, finishing uni and not finding enough work has had its toll. For the time being I’ll run with what I have and look at other porteur bar options that may accommodate brifters. Thanks for some of the advice, the veloce flat bar shifters are something I will look into when gainfully employed.
Googling the Jtek shift mate to check it out, but I would prefer to try and keep it all uniform
anyway thanks again, I do love trawling ebay for bargains
