Got the stuff back from Harkrome. The plating and polishing was much better than at Regal.

However they still managed to polish out one of the logos even though I’d told them to leave that area alone.

And once again the guy was a gruff bastard: accused me of ripping him off by telling him there were 27 pieces when there was, in fact, more. I told him that it was he that had counted them, not me, but he didn’t believe me. Oh well… I didn’t have to pay any extra.

tl;dr there’s pluses and minuses. Still not sure where I’d go to get further work done.

In 1983?

Prahran Platers is worth going to just for the ‘atmosphere’.

The finish is excellent, easy to deal with, reasonable turn around time.

‘Other side’ of town? It’s only Prahran. It’s not like it’s in Shepparton.

Just got some stuff done at Star plating out in Bayswater. Really happy with the results, reasonable prices. He does alot of stuff for vintage BMX guys so knows bikes.
