So the boys at Gear have mentioned that there is a new stock frame by Colossi - Low Pro. I’ve been a fan of the Cinelli Mash but obviously can’t drop that kind of coin for a frame.
Anyhow, don’t have a full parts list in mind but this is what I have lying about:
Mirror polished H+Son SL42 Laced to Velocity Hubs (will want to get a black Formation for the rear)
Just sourced image parts on google and then deep-etched them out in Photoshop. Only thing that was drawn from scratch is the background and drop shadows under the wheels.
I’d say you’d be fine with a -6º stem with pursuit bars. If you can’t handle the drop get some bullhorns with a flat top - ie RB018 or RB001 (the latter is the nicest shape for bullhorns IMHO). I’d only be runing a positive stem with pista bars personally.
7000 grade Alu is harder/stiffer than 6000 grade Alu. It means that they can make the same tubing in a thinner gauge and provide the same stiffeness (with less weight). But because it is not as ductile it more prone to cracking/breaking if submitted to excessive force.
Horses for courses. Would love a super stiff 7005 track frame (for the track) but I’m with aeroBloke on the steel as the choice for a street bike.
Good tip on the bars and wheels. Just used these here cause I’ve got them unused at the moment.
I was wondering about the rake out too. Wasn’t too sure what was going on, so I just overlaid another bike for reference. I’m sure Erik might be able to give more info on the proper measurements.
Yep, let’s move this into fixed section. Wasn’t too sure if it was a worthy post to begin with.
