FAQ: How do I get into track racing?

Looks like it’s on, but keep an eye on this

Gary: You can use a Brunswick bike. Bring clipless pedals if you have them.

Session is $5 for BWK members or $10 for non-members.

if you want to borrow a bike maybe get there quater to 8 and ask for greg or phil, introduce yourself and they will sort you out

BINGO, hi brendan

You weren’t there man, I cried for like 25mins. Nah Benzy told me you were crook, no good, hope you’re feeling better.

I did do it and it was awesome, I can’t wait for the next one.

I’m keen to get into track racing/riding in Perth, but have done very little riding in groups (although have churned out close to 15,000km solo on the roads last year). Am i better to start doing some group ‘shop’ rides first, or should i just head down to the track and talk to the locals?

i’m in perth …

do this. it’s fun.

show bag to do mean riding around with people on track bike’s on the streets of perth, or do you mean heading out to the velodrome??

im keen on both, hopefully if all goes well i should have a new bike to ride in the drome in a 3-4 weeks so if you want to go hit up the midland velo with some one just as new to that sort of thing as your self we should go do it together.
info here http://www.trackcyclingwa.com.au/

but as for riding around the streets with people just msg any of the other users you see in the perth section of the forum and hassle them to be your friend, thats what i used to do

also try and restart this thread http://fixed.org.au/forums/index.php/topic,9218.0.html
or a new one like it!!!

do it please!

especially when you win…

Don’t be afraid to head there your first time. I was shitscared my first time, but since riding at the track for 3 months, I’ve seen maybe 5 or 6 other newbs come along. It’s not a big deal to the guys who have been there for a while, and if anything they like showing how good they are when they teach you things.
If anyone in sydney is keen to have a go, let me know and I will help you as much as I can.

brunswick racing will be outside again tonight at the harrison st velodrome.

will be cold, will be fun. come on down!

Hey guys, just a few quick questions.

What would be a good gearing to start off with?
Ive got a 46t chain ring and quite a few cogs from 13 to 17 and also will time pedals be suitable?
Looking at hitting the indoor at DISC

Cheers,
Daniel

46-14 roughly gives you an 88 - that should be fine. 46-15 is 82, and probably a little small.

any clip in pedals will be fine for your first few goes.

barspin’s in the drome?

Is training on at DISC this Sunday?

as far as i can see:

Brunswick Cycling Club

you looking for another excuse to be late to crankys?

where were you last sunday trigger? you missed out on gregs pyramid of painnnnnn

I would’ve loved to have been there, but alas I have recently ahd my ass kicked by the flu. Should be back on the track in two weeks time.
