Fixed.org.au hosting expenses

Donation, done. Hoodie idea is great I’d grab one for sure. Should see where Dan gets his done, as I believe he sells them quite cheap i.e. $35 or something like that.

I’m more than happy to chip in some funds…

And take the opportunity to say thanks to you Nick for the site, and all the other moderators/site mechanics that keep it going…

I have meet some great people/idiots because of it, and it has definitely saved me more cash than I just put in…

p.s. size medium hoodie in black please…

I haven’t had a chance to thank everyone personally - But really appreciate peoples donations and good wishes - Thank you. Hopefully you’ve noticed a improvement in the site so far - It seems to me to be a lot faster - I hope it is from your end.

As per a suggestion from Snowflake, I’m going to send everyone who was able to ‘chip in’ a little something fixed related from New York City. I have all your addresses from Paypal, so expect something in the mail in the next month or so.

I’ll endeavour to put together new textile and post about it later on.

It’s running a lot faster for me.

Will you be leaving the donations link up to try and continue to collect enough to cover through to May09, or will it just come back as required. (Fixed.org.au telethon?)

Great.

Well, I had intended on trying to raise the full amount, so I can just pay off the account for the year and be done with it - Instead of coming back here begging every couple of months! That being said, there is enough now to nearly run for six months.

Hopefully there’ll be more cash coming in from this:

I’ve got a bunch of Phil Wood track cogs for sale. All cogs were used for a few months but there’s lots of life left in 'em. $25 per cog. Apologies to interested parties outside of Melbourne. I will not post them. Pickup in West Brunswick, around Parkville during working hours or during the Sat morning ride (7.30am at Fed Sq). ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO HOSTING EXPENSES.

I’ve got:

16 teeth, 1/8

16 teeth, 3/32

19 teeth, 1/8

Des

Des, I’ll take this one please. My 16t is shagged.

I’ll PM you to work out pickup details.

Was the site down for a while yesterday and today?

Des,

PM’d re:19T cog

Cheers

We’ve now raised $594 of the $600 needed for a year’s hosting.

Here’s a HUGE thanks to all who have donated. Your generosity and support is well appreciated.

And another thanks to all those who contribute to the forums and help to make this place as useful and popular as it is. The fact that donations have literally flooded in just shows that plenty of people see value in fixed.org.au and that’s really pleasing to see.

There’s so much love in the world

All cogs sold.

Thanks to those you bought them and donated to the hosting expenses.

Cheers
Des

You web hosting cunts still need money or what?

Did you win lotto?

Thanks so much to everyone for helping out with the hosting - It’s officially covered for the next year. Really amazed by the response, and I hope you’ve noticed an increase in speed etc on the site. I have some time over the summer (err winter) to work on things, so I’ll get busy on making improvements.

nick!

I’m getting serious connection issues with fixed.org.au. Typing a direct link to forum (http://fixed.org.au/forums/) url wont resolve and no server responds. Sometimes the whole site doesn’t respond for hours, almost like it’s down and wont connect.

Is anyone else getting this?

I’m using safari on mac OSX 10.5

I’ve had no problems in Brisbane, and I’m with Optusnet!!!

how often do you come here?

im using safari on the same OS no probs

wonder if its weird expiring cookies or something? but i always get can’t find server messages when i try and load this site.
