Hi I’m new to the fixie scene and i was wondering will vertical dropout work for a fixie conversion?

when people post things like this i like to hope they’re just taking the piss.

but in case you’re not:

it IS technically possible to use vertical dropouts, but it’s way more hassle than it’s worth. no need to make things that difficult for yourself.

-“magic” gear ratio/half links (dodgy)

then there’s two ways to take up the chain slack… both are fairly expensive
-eccentric bottom bracket
-eccentric hub (http://www.whiteind.com/rearhubs/singlespeedhubs.html for example)
