Fixie noob, well sort of

Oh yeah, forgot to ask…is it just me or is the front brake really spongey? I was told I should probably change the cables because the theory was that they’re too stretchy, but I wasn’t too sure on the source of the theory :).

funny that this post came back up, i’m about to put the bike on ebay, i guess my knees are too old (too much running my youth). just bought a new geared bike and my body has thanked me. keep an eye out for this bike on ebay being listed tonight.

though to answer your questions, front brakes i changed out, i thought the standard were ok, theoretically once the cables have stretched out and you’ve adjusted them there should be no more problems,

the cranks i changed, the rest i used a wire wheel on my bench grinder then on the calico rag on the buffer.
