I haven’t tried one but Rhino raved about how good his was diring the croc, if it suits your butt then go for it.
Abbotsford Cycles have a ‘test’ Arionne that you can take home for a few days and try for yourself.
Which is probably the best way to sort that question out!

I have one on my roadie - its pretty comfy and better than some of the others I’ve tried (crappy specialized and selle san marco C2) recently.
I have 5 of them…one on each bike, and a spare one.
They suit me well.
The GOBI is the MTB version, and has more padding, but the AIRONE suits me fine. Road, Track and MTB…I use the airone on each.
Note, that I am sponsored by fizik, but had the AIRONE well before then…
Me too, Arione on each bike except the MTB.
I found them a bit long for XC riding.
Except if your racing 1400km over 10 days over corrogations and through bulldust and sand.
Why the fuck would you want to do that anyway?

Perhaps you could do it on a fixed, rigid Cyclocross with a Brooks saddle and timber rims? (the new Scott Hipster perhaps?)

I ride an Arione on my Kenevans and love it.
My saddle of choice on an MTB is a Gobi too, although for some weird reason my Gobi disappeared with my last weight weenie bike when I sold it. I couldn’t find a replacement to chuck on it at the time.
Fizik have definitely got their shape right, they fit heaps of people.
I’ll give another vote for the fizik too, they give you plenty of room to move around so I run one on my track bike.
On my roadie though, I use one of these. The most comfortable seat I’ve ever owned.
another massive vote for the arione. dunno bout the rest of you who like em, but i think they get better with age… the wings get flexier. and they start to shine too i like the plain black best.

Nah - They’re light and comfortable* and don’t crack up in the rain.
*except for the Gobi, which broke my ass… and prompted me to move to the WTB Rocket V.

I’ll offer a dissenting view - comfy for a time but I’ve had two ariones crack across the shell, just in front of the little ‘wing-flex’ cutout thingies. To be fair to the good people at fizik I AM a fat bastard, but a couple of other not-so-big blokes I know have had the same problem with them.
