Before I start a ‘what rack will suit my bike’ thread. I’ve been googling alot of racks but can’t decide if I want to go flat rack w/ fold up crate combo. Or perhaps the basket/cargo net style.
Do I need to measure eyelet to fork crown lengths or anything like that when choosing or are most 700c styles going to fit.
Can anyone attest to the advantages/disadvantages they notice with either racks styles? Seems people are split and it’s hard for me to try out either before purchase
Big enough for small duffle - backpack is what I am after.
EDIT: Stores in Bris that carry at least some racks for me to look at?
I have both a rack and a basket. The rack is great for carrying bigger boxes and wider objects, the basket is better for looser objects or a small bag. I prefer the basket for carrying a bag because I don’t have to strap it in and is easier to access.
Most racks and baskets have adjustable struts.
Maybe try Gear in Brisbane?
so, i want to get a rack for my rig. been looking at the velo orange VO Porteur Rack
or maybe even the soma one. Anyone got any other suggestions i should be looking at? Be nice if stores in sydney carried them so i could have a look in the flesh.
- Custom
- Civia Pizzeria/Market.
- Soma
- That other one I can’t remember
- VO.
We have VO porteur racks in stock and will have the Soma coming in this week hopefully.
thanks gypsy, what prices?
Seriously. Buy the civia. The mount is much better. And it’s cheaper.
