Okay so I’m getting sick of orange powder/liquid forming inside my steel bikes.
My understanding is you can use fish oil and spray it inside the frame to protect it. When I go to the hardware store, what exactly am I asking for?
better to go to the deli section?
DIY next time you open some anchovies.
Do the experts agree with using this in your frame?
Yeah, asked one of the service guys at 99 bikes in Fort Valley Brissy. Mentioned that you could get the really expensive stuff specifically for bikes or just get the same from bunnings for cheap as chups.
Thanks. Did I read somewhere that there is an aerosol version of this- I imagine it would make spraying it inside the frame easier?
cheers for the info, have been wanting to do the same.
It already comes aerosol’d
I use this on all of my Veedubs and its by far the best product I have used
POR 15
I use RP7.
I use RP7 on some other raw steel sporting equipment when I leave it in storage to prevent fresh rust blooms.
I’d avoid fish oil and go with this. Been using this on all my steel frames.
A real consensus is forming eh?
Liquid lanolin who would have thought?
Must confess, i’ve never seen a rusty sheep yet. Shit must be good.
LOL - the sweet smell of NZ. Better than the smell of a bait bucket.
FFS, from one extreme to another!
is that also why steel wool is good at removing surface rust?
I heard somewhere that kind of wool comes from hydraulic rams…
I think a bit of pee came out… lolz
