Photo?

Added a couple of photos, i can add more later once I get access to a computer.

Neat build. Get rid of that coloured chain and align your tyre labels with the valves and you’ll be winning.

welcome

Ah the links weren’t working, probably something to do with work computer. Very clean looking build, but yeah not a fan of the chain. Looks like a commuter set up with the lights?

Is that a thing? Should I go home and remove and re-align all my tyres now?

Bike looks pretty good, will keep an eye out for that bright chain!

Best way to meet people is meet them riding…http://www.fixed.org.au/forums/f21/brisbane-thursday-night-ride-version-2-0-a-12708/

It’s just a gold Izumi chain so it doesn’t stand out as much in real life. I like it, so each to their own I guess.
And yeah its my every day bike, although since moving to Brisbane I’ve realised its impractical with all the hills haha.

Gold Izumi, I take it back then. I thought it was a cheapo coloured chain.

As far as I know, this is a little trick so it’s easier to find your valves when in a hurry, such as fixing a flat during a race. From that I guess it’s become a bit of a fashion thing? Once you notice it…

also helps locate the place to check for somethin in your tyre if you keep puncturing the tube in the same spot…

ie - the time I got 2 tiiiiiiny punctures within 10 minutes, turned out it was 1 tiny piece of wire from the steel belt of a car tyre.

To quote Velominati…

Rule #40 // Tires are to be mounted with the label centered over the valve stem.
Pro mechanics do it because it makes it easier to find the valve. You do this because that’s the way pro mechanics do it. This will save you precious seconds while your fat ass sits on the roadside fumbling with your CO2 after a flat. It also looks better for photo opportunities. Note: This obviously only applies to clinchers as tubulars don’t give you a choice.

Nice to are you made your way to FOA! Build is looking good duder

oh yeah, welcome!! simple build but looks pretty sweet

Oh yeah, should have said something about the build! It’s actually pretty nice. For an off the peg frame I quite like the Fuji Feather and if I was going to buy a fixie again that’d probably be what I’d purchase.

EDIT: Gold Izumi chain is total bling.

Well that’s not so bad, it looked yellow at first glance.

Yes.

nicest fuji feather ive seen

Thanks for the feedback guys, I finally got my computer back so I should be posting a bit more.

I’d love to tag along to a Thursday night ride sometime but I’m usually working, I ride every night I’m not working but I still haven’t bumped into anyone else yet.

cruise past Archive in West End tonight even if you miss the ride, hopefully there’ll be a good crew, usually stragglers (me) still there at 12ish…

Nice build indeed. I just left brissy but there is also a Sunday night ride. Checkout the Because Fixie group on Facebook, great bunch of kids  becausefixie
