Proposed Course (to be confirmed):

The proposed course for the race starts on the criterium track (anti-clockwise), exiting at the ramp at the northern end of the pavillion.

From here riders will have a choice to either dismount the bike and go up the stairs (short route), or ride up the concrete ramp to the car park (long route).

The course then follows the access road onto the bottom of the downhill mt bike circuit, over the bridge and then two jumps (in reverse direction, where riders will need to dismount; with an optional long route provided).

From there the course turns into the bottom of the 4x track, riding up the course in reverse direction and over the top of the 4x start gate and turning right, looping back around the outside of the 4x course, under the bridge, up the downhill track and then left onto a fast downhill section of fire trail followed by a section of intermittent single trick (smooth and flowing) and fire trail before joining back onto the south-east section of the criterium track, turning right and continuing anti-clockwise back to the ramp/finish line.

Is anyone else thinking of entering this fixed?

Fixed - no, I’m not that experienced a MTBer - but SS fo’ sho’. I may also bring the tallbike out there for a lap depending on how drunk I get.

That proposed track may not work. The 4x track is closed and being worked on at the moment getting ready for the worlds.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!
I’m applying for that week off work today. :sunglasses:

I picked up a brochure on the weekend, and it said something like “give it engine!” which i dont like… then the stars were labelled as such
“Christoph Sauser - XC Engine”
who says “give it engine!”???

my boss :stuck_out_tongue: Our work does all the graphics for Stromlo, The worlds, the Scott 24 hour…

It should be “give it an engine”, and when used in context it kinda makes sense.

How does a bike fly when it doesn’t have wings? You give it an engine…

Yeah, I said kinda… It wasn’t one of my ideas.

Haha!! I wsa just giving you a gee-up. I thought as soon as I saw them that youre crew probably put them together  I think theyre good! I have cut mine up and stuck them to the doors on my house. Caroline Buchanan is on the bathroom, Sauser on the toilet and Sam hill on the laundry.

haha, smartass! I didn’t know how much I tell people about the work we do. I should have known… fell for that hook line and sinker.

Hi all

The start time for the cross race this Sunday was changed a while ago to 1pm! (registration from 12:15). Sorry for the late notice, but I’ve just found out that the wrong time was on this forum.

If we get more that 5 singlespeeds turn up (which looks likey!) we’ll have a separate singlespeed category.

All the details (including update course) are at:

Hi all

I’ve just had clarification from the race director that, while singlespeeds are very welcome, we can’t allow any fixed gears. Fixed gears have been banned by UCI in bunch races and there are a few fast corners that could be a bit dodgy of a fixie. Sorry!

Apart from that, so long as there are front and rear brakes, bar plugs and an Australian standards approved helmet, just about anything goes so long as the race director thinks it’s safe.

Cheers
