Headset Thread

Just wondering… is there any way to tell if the headset thread on your fork is British, French or Italian (assuming those are the (only) options?)?

I need a new headset for the Kenevans, and was tempted by some of the bits on ebay, but then was faced with the thread question and became scared…

English does seem the logical option.
