My headset came loose on the trip over from the states. anyone got a headset tool i could borrow? will trade for beer.

What’s loose? Is the fork in the frame? If it is then you probably only need spanners (usually 32mm for 1" threaded headsets).
Anyway, pretty much any bike shop will have headset spanners and a headset press so just go somewhere convenient I reckon.
Yeah, a headset spanner is about $15-$19 to buy outright, depending on where you go.
