Hunt 1000

You made the right call I reckon. Once the vibes are off bad things can start happening, loss of focus, silly mistakes, all that.
I watched a video yesterday (one of those youtube bike channels) with a guy talking about what he’s learned about cycling: the main thing seemed to be to do the stuff you really have fun with, when it becomes a chore then is it really worth it? Not to say that the big challenges can’t be fun, but for most of us there are big trade offs to being able to do that stuff. I thought about doing the Hunt a few years back but the time commitment was something I just couldn’t deal with.

At any rate, you killed it. Got out, did a week living on your bike, didn’t die. I call that a raging success.

Yeah, always hard to find the balance between Type 1 and Type 2 fun. And sometimes it’s good to have something massive kind of overtake your life for a bit, and sometimes it’s too much.

Now with all that fitness you can just go out and ride your bike for fun eh. It’s gonna feel hella light without all that gear strapped to it!

Good little article

Just in case people didn’t see the link to the article on the socials - I was asked to write a piece for bikepacking . com

I didn’t have much of a plan when writing, but I am happy with how it came out and I have a keepsake of the experience to fit with the images.

Yeah, this is good. Kudos for discussing the anxiety around the situation.
