As i am a hairdresser i meet heaps of people every day…etc etc etc.
A man whose hair i cut works high up in the “industrie” label and said they are about to start a promotion where if you spend $200 in a industrie shop you will then be able to purchase a "fixed gear " bike for $99… I asked about which bike they would be usikng for this promotion and as we a container of 1000 that land next week and sound like the khs-ish ones that where mentioned in a thread a month ago or so. they will be in black,white or duck egg green( which sounds like the new khs colour peppermint). He will email me the link for these bikes
I under stand that this post could be seen as a silent marketing type thing on my behalf, so if it must be deleted so be it im not sure if i am breaking the rules here.
My thoughts for mentioning here where ( and i have to ring a shop to find out) if you where to purchase the amount get the bike and then (a few days later) return the clothes for cash would not a benefit be seen? They are willing to ride the wave of hipster, etc etc etc crossmarket etc etc etc so why shoujld we nort benifit. if nothing else bikes could be re-sold on flea bay?
I am no ones corperate whore but hey sounds like a possible good deal.

the bikes are more likely to be those urban outfitter ones that bsnyc has been going on about: shitty hi-ten with horrible componentry.
maybe he wasnt realy a bike guy when he emails me a link i willl post. if they come int those colours … they are horrible looking and i bet they dont ride any better.

So in a sense, this confirms the fixie community is a cliche? And its image supersedes its substance?
if they were giving away a free house with every $200 dollar purchase, they still wouldnt get my money.
