It's Time, or how French Carbon will Save the Forum

new Terror imminent.

*terroir?

Unless it’s from Rumilly, it’s not it’s time, it’s just sparkling it’s the definitive moment

Nah.
Did some faffing, fits pretty well now. Just waiting on decent 25mm tyres and some keo cleats. Then I’ll get the sternum puncher trimmed. Oh, droopy saddle gone too.

This is my thread now.

Trimmed the steerer a bit, -17 stem cos the headtube is massive, schwalbe one gumwalls in 25mm (cos that’s all that fits )

Might end up slamming the stem, dunno yet. New saddle and cages should arrive today.

from beardo to roadie, a beautiful evolution. Looks mint.

I was a pre-beardo roadie. This is more of a rounding out of my skillset. An additional arrow in my quiver, if you will.
But yeah, never thought I’d get a carbon bike. It’s interesting, looking forward to getting some longer rides in.

Did someone say they want another update? Okay then!

New saddle and carbon cages. Not much else to do I reckon.

how do u find the seat tube comfort? comes from that era when they were making seat tubes insanely big and stiff which can make them a bit brutal. I suppose the supple 25mms can even out the ride.

I’m still trying to find the right saddle, so can’t really comment on the seat mast. The comfort of the bike is generally pretty good, didn’t notice anything bad on some pretty rough roads yesterday, so maybe the whole super stiff seat mast thing is okay. And yeah, decent tyres at a lowish pressure (Jan Heine was right?) makes a big difference.
As an aside: talking to some clubbies the other week and there’s still a lot of them running 100+ psi, even on 25s.

wrong size mikdeee

This is going for $1650 with full Record and Shamals.

Look that’s a really good deal. Shamals (or any whack spoke patterns) look terrible though

I can accept that lacing on the rear, but any kind of paired spoke shenanigans can get in the bin.

must be hard to be so consistently wrong Pete.

welp, this thing is dead. The seat mast topper is fucked, and replacements have been non-existent since at least 2014. Stupid proprietary custom shaped bike parts.

So imma sell the Record group and put the money towards another carbon bike, cos why not.
