This is my Kenevans 54 X 54 road racer . The frame was made in 1984 at a cost of $535 + $10 delivery and I still have the original reciept. It is reynolds 753 and was silver grey. Champion du Monde design . A note on the invoice states" As there are no cutouts in the Head lugs we used yellow paint in the forks to match the engraving. The bike is built up with new Superbe pro running gear and hubs . The tyres that were on it when the photo was taken were Nos but had some cracks so new ones have just been glued on and it hasn’t turned a wheel since the rebuild.
I picked this Kenevans time trials bike up yesterday off a guy that had it new from 1985.
It came with a 600c front whel with campag record hub and a 700 c Dura-Ace Wheelset.
170 Dura- ace cranks ,Superbe Pro pedals ,3t seat post and Cinelli bars. A dozen spare chainrings also came with it. I am wondering wether or not to restore or part it. The paint on the frame is perfect with all original decals .The chrome on rear stays was cleaned of surface rust but the fork will need re chroming or painting.
Are there many of these out there ?
