no idea if it’s still available, bike exchange seems to have a LOT of old ads, but it’s maybe worth an email? seems to be in good nick and it’s BIG.

not too sure about shimano exage parts but at least it’s all the same groupset.
Exage is pretty average. were all hillmans good quality or did they produce some pretty average frames as well?
frame doesn’t look like it has stickers designating what tubeset was used
Remember that Hillman cycles used to sell their decals seperately- ie there are lots more fake Hillmans than genuine ones. I’m not saying it isn’t a real Hillman, just be aware.
my latest build is an example of this. after asking about the history of mine at hillman cycles, the older guy there said “we sold tons of those decals back in the 80’s. really wish we didn’t now that i think about it”
not sure about this roadie, but like i said, might be worth an email to the seller…$450 seems quite cheap for a decent quality roadie?
Deore was/is an MTB group, LX/DX/XT, then XTR added and DX dropped. Exage CX/LX filled out the groups below Deore in the early 90s.
Exage (Excellence-New age) was a sport/recreational group in the late 80s, early 90s, it had a number of different levels, Exage Action/Motion/Sport, 300EX/400EX/500EX (until 1994). 500EX had a finish similar to 6400. Today’s equivalent is Sora/Tiagra.
300EX survived alone in the mid to late 90s below RSX. (DA/Ultegra/105SC/RX100/RSX/300EX)
