dayne, yeh, pumped about the wheels, just need to find the time at the moment

nacnud, cheers mate. Tape is Newbaum cotton cloth, nice quality, self adhesive.

thats an amazing backyard job … you should start charging!

haha!

great build

Top work Jase, paint turned out great!

Lovin the retro decals, are they based on originals?

JaseyJase can I get a set of those decals for my McBain?

jontay, cheers bud =)

ben, thanks matey. Nah, original is long gone, no idea what originals look like. I think the only original Mcbain ive seen belonged to Andy aka fyxo, and even then havnt seen proper pics of the decal. I basically trawled through hundreds of fonts on urbanfonts.com and chose somthing i liked.

azz, only have one left and want to keep it as a spare, but ive attached a jpeg for ya, or jump on urbanfonts.com and look for ‘lost wages’, name of the font i used.

I will forgive you now that you have an extra mouth to feed ;): http://www.fixed.org.au/forums/t16969/

Other ‘originals’ here, here, here and here

…and a special mention here.

hahahah shiieeett…i shouldve clarified what i meant! i was referring to original decals, Your Mcbain, as well as the jamaican had ‘record’ decals. But seeing Andy’s, the white one from NY, and then the gun metal grey one (inspired my paint) all have different fonts! wonder which is real, or of McBain just did whatever/did custom orders including decals.

^ Oh, I see what you mean. Interestingly, even the Record decals had McBain on them - I guess it was similar to how you can put a company name on a Hard Yakka shirt.

I can’t quite see on the rasta one, but mine has ‘McBain Cycles Tasmania’ written on the top of the down tube, too.

yeh, i did notice that. Quite interesting, hmm…might need to fab some up =D

Jase,
your bike looks very nice, btw those are great decals, ha, ha…

I am sure I could make you those Record ones if you wish to change them, just let me know.

PM me and I could make you some

hah goran, love ya work mate =D I should be fine, im pretty happy with it as is =)

any update with the new wheels? And you talk about Milton Jones, Did he build Capo frames? Lives in the Willage area?

Yeah, don’t tell me you’re still waiting on that bar tape Jase.

i keep hearing a ‘mike jones’ that was linked to Capo. The bloke in willagee is Milton Jones, unsure if they’re related. When i spoke with Milton he never mentioned a ‘Mike Jones’

to be honest i am =( Been waiting 4 weeks for the fuckers from the states. The first set came in within 2 weeks, then i realised i needed two rolls, LBS wanted $25 EACH…i was paying $17 for a pair posted from the states. Then yesterday i find out the Gear Brissie stocks em at $10 each, but Gypo only has one roll left (need two cos i used one roll on the bull horns). So hopefully gypo will have a pair to me by friday. Such dramas for insignificant parts.

In the meantime, heres the bike with some track drops

done

sweeet! discs and carbon are always fresh but classic wins every time! those rims are nice!

Dude i can’t believe its squirts paint looks killer.
