my little brother rocks straight edge spoke cards, but he does think quite highly of himself so may lend to the theory of only alleycats being accepted
so conflicted right now.
Saw a crappy single speed conversion with a couple of playing cards in the wheels at work today, I cringed.
Every time I see this thread title I think it says ‘help on lamington for spoke cards’, and think how awesome it would be to stick a lamington in your spokes.
I always see these and think there’s some underground alleycat that I’m not invited to.
Lungggg - you can stick anything in your spokes that you like. To expand on B-man’s comment, ‘traditionally’ (a few years back) spoke cards had to be earned by competing in an alleycat or other urban bike event, similar to getting a race number for running a marathon.
I’m actually wondering what to do with mine now that I have ran out of room. I could either take them out and start again (and risk looking like a noob,) start putting them in my front wheel (worried about cross winds,) or then I had an idea to trade them with foreign spoke cards like some weird hipster Boy Scout jamboree…
Maybe someone should host an alleycat where you have to bring your own spoke card? Prize for best one? Maybe I shall host this alleycat. And it’ll end with a picnic. I’ll call it ‘picnicat’.
