Cannondale trying to be weird

We have the 16" and 20" Early Rider. Great bikes. This one didn’t last long – my mate grabbed it for his boy.

Hard to get in Australia because they don’t pass the safety standard – no pedal brake – Groupe Sportif Pty Ltd — Early Rider Belter 16" children's bicycle | Product Safety Australia. I got ours from Bike24, but they no longer ship them to Australia (annoying because I was looking at the 24" soon for my eldest).

We’ve got one of the 16" Belters, it’s great, sitting in the garage waiting for Eliana to work her way up to it from the Kumo as Maaike has moved onto a 20" Lil Dutchie.

Ti ?! E-bike frame? for $45

Bought some stuff off this guy before. He usually starts things low enough and lets the market decide. Reckon this one might stay low, even thought it’s TI, not many people have the tech or parts to build an e-bike.

im keen on this…but does the fork look a little weird? seems the crown is a bit away from the headtube…?

Suspension corrected height probs. But weird they just didnt extend the legs and have more room above the tyre?

odd indeed, cant say ive seen that before.

So there is a partial NOS Campy Euclid mountain group for sale on FB
Brakes, Shifter, cable/housing an crankset

For 350.
Been on FB for months.
How has this not sold? I’ve seen used individual Euclid parts go on eBay for nearly 2/3 the price of this NOS group.

What am I missing.

Also there was a complete Colnago TT funny bike on FB the other day Campy group, Scott bars, tri spokes, great condition
450???
It wasn’t just some random stickered funny bike. Great paint, gilco tubing.

Sure unrideable, but worth having for 450 surely?

Is it just a bad economy? Are we in recession now?

I dunno, the vintage bike market is pretty fickle.

I don’t know much about Euclid, but I thought I heard it was pretty average. Are there many vintage MTBers?

Who wants a vintage TT bike? If you’re racing time trials you’d probably get a modern bike, and if you’re a retrogrouch you probably want something you can ride comfortably. The target audience is pretty slim if it’s just destined to be hung on a wall. Just my opinion, could be wrong, etc.

Yeah, youre right. Nobody NEEDS a colnago TT funny bike. But it’s pretty rare that one comes up in that good a condition. I mean so much PASSION!!!

And the Euclid. Would be fun to build a bougie, period correct XC bike with it.

Though, this is coming from a guy who build a bike around a stem I liked.

And th

It

Canberra folx, someone please buy these. Cheap couple of dynamo wheels.

yep vintage mob might be nice to look at, but like riding a shitty rigid heavy piece of crap geometry even on a cross country trail…how they rode DH with 500mm bars, 70deg HA, 60mm of blow thru suspension & rim brakes is beyond me

Yeah I hear you. But it’s not about performance.
Nobody buys a vintage car because they are reliable, turn easily and grip the road.
I dunno.
Nevermind. It must be just me.
In saying that though, I would buy it, take a photo and it would sit in my garage for a few years, until I decide I really don’t need it, try and sell it and complain how little bike shit is worth.

No I hear you, we are buying an old 8day winding clock -sure a $2 watch with quartz movement keeps better time, but the gearing on the back of that thing is superb, the chimes are great–atleast the clock keeps reasonable time, looks great .but old MTB’s do not in any way resemble a functional mountain bike…I have a Lemond 853 steel roadie, and a DAWES 653 1990’s cyclocross bike, if I rode carbon I might be 2-3% quicker -but they re still great functional bikes, I looked at an early cannondale DH rig from very early 2000…f&^%ing death trap, even on an xc smooth rock garden, that thing didn’t even ride melt cobbles well…I would have injured myself

Nice little 650c hillbrick on FB

That’s awesome. Too small for me even! Just had a quick scout around, can’t see any 650c tyres bigger than 25mm…

Could imagine it as a pretty rad townie with risers and flat bar shifters for a youngin’

You’re also right - 650c is a bit of a turd to find tyres for. Maybe someone can chime in with something thats roughly compatible.
