Were you at the time:
a) Under 12?
b) Supervising children on bikes who were under 12; or
c) possessed of a disability that would prevent you from riding on the road?
(these are the conditions under which a person can legally ride a bicycle on a footpath)

If none of the above, you shouldn’t have been on the footpath. If you need the footpath and you are in doubt about what to do, get off and walk.

Sounds to me like you need to

a) learn the rules as they apply to you. Vicroads and Bicycle Victoria websites are a good place to start);

b) work on some skills; and

c) relax.

I’m curious, not so much because I want to ride on the footpath, just goos to know. I am deaf in my left ear, and have always had trouble with hearing cars coming up behind me, would this be considered disabled enough if I was to be pulled over would you think?

obviously, but they don’t come from the right hand side, they generally come from behind ( :evil:) so I don’t hear them until they are next to me and am constantly looking behind me, also because only one ear works everything sounds like its coming from exactly where my right ear is facing, so I can’t trust that at all its not so much a problem as I’m used to it, was just a hyperthetical.
