any one do it? anyone do it regularly? are there meet ups to do it? seems like a nice ride. ![]()
Apologies for the delay, I am new to this forum and still coming up to speed on how to navigate it.
I assume that you are familiar with the NRRT, which I certainly am.
AFAIAC, the NRRT is definitely ideal for Singlespeed bikes with freewheel.
I ride a Singlespeed (freewheel) on the Trail without any issues.
But it does help if you can run slightly baggy tyres. Ideally 32 mm but narrower if that’s all you can fit in the frame and forks.
Obviously you have to get the gearing right.
I am running a 46 t chainring and 17 t cog.
Yes there is one place where I have to get off and walk for about 50 metres (on the start of the climb just south of the Tunnel Road intersection). But I now have age (mid sixties) and orthopaedic issues that hamper me from cranking out the big torque that I used to.
Cheers. ( Steve Lantana on Strava)
