I will be interested to see what comes out of the recent 13yo kid that was flown to Brisbane after being injured on an escooter. I have not seen any details, and no suggestion that the device was no legal or who was at fault - but a 13yo on an escooter is most likely illegal I would have thought, even if the device was legal and the motor vehicle was at fault.

Tonight on 7 news Brisbane were talking about the above death saying the new laws stop that happening. Ah no. At 13 before the new laws he needed supervision
Yes, I didn’t know he had died. It amazes me that it is always the govt and/or laws that are blamed, not the irresponsible parents who bought the thing in the first place and allowed an underage kid to use. As usual there would be no push back on the parents for allowing it to happen ![]()
The new laws do allow the parents to be fined
