I’ve got a vintage Paconi ‘Kevin Wingham’ road bike frame and wondering if anyone knew anything about it.
Any good?

How vintage? Wiggo’s not THAT old!!
Paconi Racing Frames, based in Macbeth St, Braeside, VIC. Kevin “Wiggo” Wigham builds under his own Paconi brand but has also built for Cecil Walker, John Kennedy and others (I think Cecil’s or somebody similar may own the business now?). “Paconi” is experiencing a bit of a resurgence down my way as cashed up SE suburbs types are getting jaded with their tupperware Specialized Tarmacs that look like every other Tarmac parked outside ODO on a Saturday.
Generally pretty good, not the creme-de-la-creme of Aussie builders but builds honest, workmanlike frames mostly in Steel and Aluminium, mostly Columbus Tubesets, Reynolds less often. Even dabbled in the Columbus Carbon-kit tubeset for a while (under the “Wiggo” brand, you don’t see many of them).
If you can see a frame serial number, give Wiggo a call, if he’s in a good mood he should be able to tell you some build details of your frame.
Frame builder who has been making bikes for a long time - operates out of Braeside (Factory 7a Macbeth St).
Cecil Walker in Melb CBD sell Paconi bikes - someone said Cecil own Paconi or vice versa?
As for the bike itself, it will be a better than average quality frame (no one asks a custom frame builder to make a gas pipe clunker) but since they’re mostly custom bikes, the specifics depend on the original purchasers requests and budget.
Take away message is, it’s likely pretty good and if you don’t want it, I’ll come take it off ya hands and save you the hassle of dragging it out to the gutter for hard waste collection.
^^ ah, too slow.
Thanks for the responses.
I’ll have a look and see if I can find a serial no. and give him a call.
