Well it’s either running a 3sp hub or has a random shifter and associated cable strapped to it for no reason
There are a few different 3sp hubs out there including the S3X 3sp fixed.
Some come in 120mm spacing if you’ve got a SW8 fiquezeh
I’ve got an ancient suntour i think which i got for free and still work OK on Mrs FROG’s bike. An 8sp nexus with grip shifter is her preferred option on my/our/her 20" folder. IGH’s can shift while stationary, have gear indicators and are less likley to drop chains which make them pretty damn easy to use.
