Polo is on this Sunday, 7th June, 2pm. Meet at Gawler place between Flinders and Pirie.
If it is wet and you turn up late and no-one is there have a look for a chalked message on the pavement near the carpark barrier for instructions for the new location. (Kinda like a polo treasure hunt)
Mallets provided for those who dont have one. See you there!
There will not be Bike Polo this Sunday.
Our next game will be on Sunday the 5th of July.
We may also play at a new location if the weather is not too wet. The multi-use courts beside Wakefield Street in the east parklands. This place should be great for a future tournament as it has good concrete edging on three sides.
Check back for updates closer to the time or if you havent already done so drop me an email to be on the list.
We will try the new location, the courts beside Wakefield street in the east parklands.
The weather report looks promising!
Last night I whacked up 35 meters of edging out of a sheet of 12mm MDF to keep the ball in play. This will be our first fully-edged polo court which should be wicked.
I will also bring along a few extra mallets if you haven’t got one yet. If you play nice I may even let you take one home.
The more the merrier. Last Sunday was fantastic. The edged court supported incredibly fast games. Everyone was going hard, even Ian the unicyclist. The only hassle was a very slick puddle behind the northern goal which had a few come unstuck.
Great to see some new faces watch what we do. It had the neighboring basketballers scratching their heads for a while but they seem ok with us playing there.
Next play day will be Sunday the 19th at 2pm.
I still have plenty of mallet building gear so remind me if you need a kit.
All going to plan I’ll be out again on Sunday, and been trying to rope in a few others.
If you do have some mallet materials I’d be keen to sort one out.
Polo is on this Sunday, 1st Aug, 2pm, Wakefield street courts.
The turnout the last couple of times has been excellent and its great to see some new faces.
Hard rubbish is happening in our area right now, (Kensington and surrounding burbs) if you are looking for old bike bits, frames etc, should be some gems.
We’ll be trying out mid-week polo tomorrow night. Meeting at the Dumpling King on Moonta St in Chinatown between 6 and 6:30 for some food and then a 7pm roll out.
We have several locations to try, the first of which is the far north west corner of the market carpark (top floor, head west, then north). If this doesn’t work for whatever reason we’ll leave a note in chalk outlining the next location.
