Post your bike - Canberra version.

Well I think Ciaran’s idea was a good one, to post our bikes so that if we see each other round we know who’s who. (Even though they may already be in the post your ride section, this is a good way to keep track of the Canberranians…)

So here’s my three fixies (I wont post my other bikes yet or we’ll be here all day!).

The first is my Wilier. It’s my old road frame, I built up some wheels using a White Industries eccentric hub so that I can use the frame as a fixie even though it has vertical drops.

My Peugeot. Bought it complete with full Suntour Cyclone. Turned it into a fixie and is mostly used as my commuter or for training rides on hillier terrain, hence the brake.

And my Hillbrick. This bike was my track race bike and has seen quite a bit of action on the velodrome. I just added some carbon flat bars and a smaller chain-ring for the street.

Cheers.

My daily bread.

Not used much as a fixie but as a single speed. Had it for about 6 years now and sold it twice in that time and it ends back with me. Maybe things were meant to be.

It’s a hillman frame and a recent rebuilds sees it in new paint, threaded fork converted to threadless.

If you see me out and about be sure to say hello.

This thread got moderated to the “correct” section…

Anyhow, here are my three steeds!

Cell Cingle with a few slight tweaks over stock

Herbie Mk 1 - Single Speed

And for completeness…

Herbie Mk 2.5 - Fixed Gear - Pretty much everything but the frame from Herbie Mk 1 was transferred over to this bike.

Here is my rig. You prob wont miss me ridding past.

Here is mine… Photo isn’t the best sorry!

Haven’t been riding it that much lately… I just need to get some winter gear for the cold mornings

Not sure of the frame, think maybe a nishiki (spelt incorrectly?) hand painted poorly, suicide hub (still going strong) and a very anoying crank size (i think its 118) very hard to get chainrings for it hence the 39/20 ratio, its a bike for spinning thats for sure, i ride around woden on my comute to the hospital most days.

if you look closly you can see the poor taping of my stripes (how do you get those straight?)

i found the tiger decal onin my ‘guitar hero’ sticker pack but it looks good i think

Well after finally gathering all the bits and peices needed here the bike of the day…

-Frame Tange 1 centurion (cheers abodigital) deluged and re sprayed
-Shimno 600 early 90s headset w/ sakae stem, choped risers and ourys
-SR track pedals with double cagesCheers kid killly) and leather toe straps
-Rear velocity w/ surly cog and lock ring
-Front alex rim

  • Sugino seatpost ,need a seat
    -FSA aero crank and chsainring.
    -Token B/B

With a 51 C/C and 51 T/T this is to small for me to enjoy for too long so will sell it soon… drop me a line if your interested i wll be over it in about a week.

Not sure about the featured bike but what’s going on with the europa on the table behind it???

Still a work in progress, but here’s my Miyata One Ten.

Nice myata i sold one built up as a single about 3months ago. not from the blue mountains are you.

No, from Canberra. Would be keen to see some pictures of the Miyata you sold though.
