Powder coat preparation.

So I’m getting a frame ready to be powder coated and I’m just wondering what I need to do. At the moment I’m cleaning it up, sanding off any surface rust, paint and decals and getting rid of the braze-ons, but how far do I have to go? Do I have to get it back to bare metal? Also, should I look out for any threads being damaged when being coated eg the bottom brack / head stem, should I put and old bottom bracket in there loosely when the frame gets sand blasted / powder coated? Newspaper in the head tube and seat tube? I don’t want to get it ready (to an extent) and have them tell me I need to do more…

Also, easiest way to remove the cups in the head tube? This is a 1970’s Raleigh frame and I’m having a bit of trouble…

the powdercoating place you take it to should do all that for you.

I would’ve thought the best thing to do is ask them directly.
