It was pretty poor management. The riders weren’t old anything. The podium announcements were just made and that was that.

yep, UCI and Oz regs say course must be min 3m width, the full 3m doesnt need equally rideable but it should allow for it. There are some circumstances where it totally isnt possible, but at a national level there is an expectation that this will be the case.
Like I said, I have it on good authority that FOJ have a 3m piece of conduit that they walk the course with pre-opening to check width has been maintained.
There is a 3m piece of conduit and I’m sure that section of the course was definitely checked because it was quite tight around there.
