It’s cool, except for the wankiness of it… Just sell one of your bikes and by a roadie Alex. All those hills are 15 minutes from the city!
Sames with the Sydney one: looked pretty ace, but we did a ride a few weeks before that covering similar ground, but on better roads, at a more sensible time of day. I mean, sure, we didn’t get a special cap with the event name on it or a lengthy blog post, but it was alright, you know?
Really it’s the gravel roads and fire trails that interest me much more than many hours of roads; which makes me lean more toward CX before a roadie. Plus, single track adventures.
Get a CX bike, chuck some touring tyres on there, best of both worlds! There’s also some very accessible gravel roads and single track close to the city too.
I’m keen to hit some gravel when I am in town in January, with whoever else wants to ride.
Have no idea where to ride though, ideas?
