Anyone done a rattle can fade paint job? Thinking of “sprucing up” the Europa now the weather’s getting nicer. Not sure what colours yet, definitely black but to what other colour? grey / silver?
Any tips?

I’ve done a rattle can fade before (it was on a rocker cover though, yes i was young dumb and full of … at the time : )
AFIR i painted it one colour all over and let it dry fully (probably start with teh lightest one depending how the light colour covers the dark). I then did the fade and came back with the first colour and faded agian. I repeated this a number of times without waiting for teh paint to dry which gave a pretty good fade.
My vote goes to black to lime green or hot pink
might be a bit more difficult to pull off than black/silver though
Choose your colours wisely.
Use 3 colours not 2, 2 very similar shades will help add to the effect.
New York Fat cap or Pink Dot will make it very easy.
Thinking of something like this… black > silver > white.
I think you should do it cherry sunburst in honour of Les Paul…
I reckon there’s already a Kinfolk frame that’s been done like that…
Nice! Would have liked to see the rims off-white to pick up the scratch plate.
…and call me old fashioned, but some pedals would be nice.
that KinFolk frame is beautiful
