What do you do to remove the glue?
Give them a wipe over a scouring pad dipped in paint thinners or acertone. Works for me (unless the glue is really old and hard, then its time to break out the sand paper)
do many people actually ride with tubulars? i’ve got some old rims i’d like to get rid of, but didn’t think anyone used them other than the pros…
I’ve got tubs for a restoration I’m doing at the moment. Wouldn’t ride them on my everyday bikes though, particularly in Brisbane where the roads are crappy by 3rd world standards. My use is strictly in keeping with the period-ness of the resto, not for any functional purpose. Although I do know some on here do ride them on road a bit more frequently.
If you live in Brisbane, I know someone (ME) who rides on tubulars alot…
I love tubs! That’s all I use on my roadie.
Brake cleaner is good for removing glue.
Found a good site that runs you through how to fit tubulars properly

he recomends you use a cone wrench to scrape off the old glue, i used a plastic tire lever to scrape the glue off my wheel and it worked well
