So I was very ho hum about the Olympics, but turned on the TV this morning at 6am and watched Women’s Rugby 7’s, women’s basketball and women’s soccer. It was all great. Maybe us men are the issue?
I like this. So no cycling then…
I caught some of the cycling at the start of the race, then Ch7 switched to a different sport so I headed to bed. If they hadn’t have switched, i’d probably have stayed up a bit longer.
Apart from that haven’t seen anything else.
Should find out when the MTB racing is on.
It’s deeply frustrating if you use a PVR to discover that when it’s convenient they switch it over to their other channels or exclusively on the app. It’s a woeful, “old world” way of thinking. Why not set a schedule of which events are going to be on which channels and disclose that so the consumer will be able to get what they want and be fully engaged? Otherwise, we’re all going to abandon the advertised coverage and go to the app (where plenty of content is free for Telstra customers) and free of ads as well…
Olympics coverage has never been skewed towards single-sport fans. It’s designed for people who don’t really watch sport and have a short attention span, keep them tuned in by continually replaying Australian medal-winning performances and promises of interesting shit “COMING UP!!!” after the next ad break, oh I mean the next ad break, no the next next ad break.
I tried to watch some track racing at the pub once and they seemed to only ever show half a race, then cut to the ultra-lighweight laser boats (just the middle of the race but) then over to the table tennis, then back to Bruce Macavaney in the studio to replay the gold medal shooting from day one.

I haven’t watched channel 7 since forever. If someone told me they’d been ruined by fire five years ago I would believe them, wondering hopefully if Kochie had been taken by the blaze.
It’s frustrating for sports fans. They say it’s live and free and I still feel like I’ve been robbed.
Is there a hash tag or Twitter handle for channel 7? Might be time to put the flamey ranty hat on.

This is fukd - I missed all the action in the mens because they switched to 73mate. The womens was already on that channel from the start so figured that was safe to record and go to bed… then halfway through the recording the kind people at 7 indicate if you want to watch the rest of the race, it’ll be on the app… morons
I’m glad i’m not the only one who thinks the coverage is a joke. I could probably tell you more about who is sponsoring the Olympics than what is actually happening based on the amount of advertisements being played.

I taped two of the three channels last night hoping to get the Boomers game. Got up early this morning to watch it before work. Of course it was on the third channel! Oh well.
