Picked this thing up yesterday for what seemed like a good price. It’s a 55cm saronni frame with an ugly paintjob and even worse stickers on it. Apparently it was originallymetalic blue. From the quick bit of research i did on it, the frame was made by colnago. Has the colnago clover/flower thing cut out of the bb shell. Allegedly it’s exactly the same fame as the colnago, just stamped saronni and the original paintwork wasn’t of the same standard.
Parts are campag- pedals, cages and straps. seat post, high flange hubs laced to ambrosio tubular rims. new looking bottom bracket. cinelli stem and pista bars. Dura ace njs cranks. super mighty chainring. kashimax njs saddle. And some shimano headset. The frame doesn’t have any dings in it and it runs smooth as, just not pretty to look at. Might be good for someone wanting to restore it? i’ll try and get some better pics when i have a chance.
Yeah from the little i read about it, it seemed like a good score. It’s a track frame. The guy at one of my local bike stores used to race it. He wanted to get rid of it before tax time. Payed what he reckons the pedal set up cost him back in the day. Might sell it if i get an offer i can’t refuse.
