I’m putting an old Sugino triple crankset on a steel tourer. I thought a 118mm BB would be okay, but it looks way too wide. The cranks have been tightened down.
I have a 110mm wide BB I can try, but I’m afraid it will be too narrow.

Nah, it’s probably a symmetrical BB so only 4mm shorter per side, looks like you have heaps of room.
Main issue is usually arms on chainstays.
No harm in trying eh
I’ve got HEAPS of clearance between the crank arms and chainstays. I’ll chuck the 110mm in and see how I go.
Find your cranks on Velobase and usually the intended spindle length is specified.
According to this, it’s a 113mm bb.
