SSCX gearing options

Hey I just got a new to me Specialized Tricross Singlecross and am going to put a bunch of parts on that I have had for a build. I am just wondering what gearing anyone has found best suited.

Depends on legs and course.

Try low 60s to high 50s to start with. Pick a chainring that let’s you do this without needing 20t freewheels

I asked a similar question near the bottom of this page. I ran 39-19 and it worked great for me.

Round the city/commute: 46x17/18
Racey times: 38/18

I would second 38/18 for racey times.
I use 42/17 around town.

38 and 42 both fit nicely on 130bcd cranks. 17/18t cogs give you lots of options.
