Stem Shim?

Want to fit a 1 1/8th stem to a 1" stem convertor thing, LBS said it would fit but its like fucking a wet bucket, not keen on filling it up with a coke can, does anyone make a shim to fit or is there a Convertor thing that is a 1" quill style to 1 1/8th threadless?

I thought you could buy 1" threaded to 1 1/8" threadless adapters?

yeah sweet thats exactly what im after.

I mean fuck, i love supporting the local but the amount of times they have let me down and ripped me off is getting beyond a joke.
