He was a good mate at high school.
Always super understated about his achievements (which came later and after a bunch of his training mates had already made it and he’d missed out).
Caught up with him a year or two ago at our HS reunion and he was as awesome as ever… asking after my old man (who he used to see in weekend bunch rides). I reckon barely any one in the room knew about his palmares as they talked up their latest renovation or job promotion.
Don’t know any more of the background and where he was at, but I’ll say again mental health issues are for real. If you are suffering, PLEASE don’t do it in silence…
