Stolen Fuji Track - MELB Footscray

Went to a friends party May 14th in Footscray and left my bike in the backyard at around 10pm. It was taken sometime in the next 2 hours. Someone saw a guy putting a bike into the back of a car but they didn’t give any other details.

The frame is a 52cm 2009 Fuji Track grey/black. Has a large white scratch along the lefthand side of the toptube,

  • Black velocity Deep V rims with White spokes and 23mm gatorskins. Front is machined.
  • Miche Primato Advanced Cranks
  • Eddy Merkxx seat post
  • MKS Sylvan Track Pedals and cages.

I know there is almost zero chance of getting it back but any advice on anything I can do to improve my odds would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any information please call Jen Goodall - 0433 775 031

Sorry to hear that man. Did you ride the warby rail trail with the crew late last year? Just trying to put a name to a face. Like you said, it’s unlikely, but i’ll keep an eye out.

perhaps keep checking ebay and tradingpost for the next 6 months and hope they are dumb enough to post it up. my cousin had a whole bunch of kitesurfing stuff stolen then after a checking for a while he spotted it, called the cops and got it back.

the more distinctive the build the easier it will be to identify. they could also part it out to so keep a look for individual bits.

hope you find it

HeavyMetalCyclist - Yeah, I was on that ride. The picture is actually taken on the warby trail last month.

BPM - I’ll definitely keep an eye out on ebay/trading post, who knows, maybe I’ll get lucky like your cousin.

Thanks guys.

Horrible news Jen! WHAT JERKS!! Have you reported it?

Hey, if anyone has a long (around 30mm from memory) front brake nut to suit mounting an ultegra caliper to carbon forks please let it flow Jen’s way. I currently have his old roadbike at home in pieces. I am pretty sure I have the rest of the parts to get it rolling.

that sucks… feel for you mate. Check cash converters or porn brokers. bikes are becoming more popular in there, at least in Melbourne they are. Hope you find it :frowning:

sorry to hear man…

Holy CRAP!
I think I just found your bike!
(Sorry if I’m over excited)

holy shit caz
but the wheels are different but certainly chase it up 1800ken

Wheels different, has reflectors on it, saddle looks different, cranks look different. Don’t forget that this was a mass produced bike.
If it was me I would still probably look into it though. But I am a suspicious cvnt.

I know. And I think the cranks are different. But both things could have been (and look like) cheap swap-outs.

I know, it’s a long shot, but it’s a pretty dodgy-looking description. If it’s not this stolen bike, it’s possibly someone else’s.

the stock gear is on in the bike. i dont think anyone who stole it would go to the effort of finding the stock components, ordering them, swapping out everything including putting reflectors etc on.

Ah, true.
Sorry.

A dodgy description is not unlikely for a mass-produced stock bike. Many people just go into a shop wanting a ‘fixie’ and 10 minutes later come out with a bike that they know nothing about. And when they sell it 2 months later after not riding it they give a basic description based on the bike’s stickers.
