Ok so I’m a big dude about 120kgs I tried to take my old cog off today buy taking off the lockring spraying the thread with some wd40 then trying to skid it off and nothing :-o It wont even budge.
Is there another way to get more leverage then that becuase I thought that would have been the sure bet. :?
Chain whip or rotafix will both allow you to put more force on it than the friction of skidding.
Failing that, jam blocks of wood onto the cog in a vice.
in the past i’ve done the same thing but wrapped the cog in a length of old chain and clamped that in the vice.
you’d look nice wrapped in old chain… :-o
