Someone has spoken of this before, however. I’m a social worker and as such have studied numerous welfare units, inclusive of community development. The first thing to consider before looking at any aspect of assisting a community is asking the following question:- What does the community want. I love the intention behind this, don’t get me wrong. But whipping burrito’s at people is not the answer.

Established welfare organisation’s around Melbourne have been working with the homeless for years (Salvo’s, St Vincent De Paul, Melbourne City Mission). Maybe it’s a good idea to ask these organisations what they think is a good project to undertake, or better yet, ask homeless people direct.

You should post back on the forum what you come up with.

anyways. this was/is a stupid idea that sounds like someone’s year 11 communication project. can we just let it die now?
