I got mine done at place called ‘Powder Coating’ as it was the only place my uncle who is a machinist recommended.
$15 for the sandblasting
$115 for the powdercoating
A little more expensive then some of the other prices I have seen down in Melbourne, my only thinking is that because there aren’t many guys around this joint it is just the standard price.
cheers for the hedz up ezi, wrang every mo’ fo in the yellow pages today and the responses where varied:1. …but how big is a pushbike frame?;
2. HA HA no to small mate try bunnings;
3. A dud who even asked me what make the frame was and sounded excited to get his hands onit and recomended a p/c around the corner who he uses.
I think you can guess who i went with. AA Sand blasting $30, and can-fab for the p/c $50 and he said he would tape up the threads for me....Nice. If any one in canberra need the numbers i will let you know how it turns out. EZI-Lee where you at the drains? which pony where you riding?
had the sand blasting done today… WOW shit it makes a difference. Scary place though could have been killed and eaten and never heard of again. but forgot to take the forks…dickhead…but saved by lovley wife dropping off and picking up. powder coating to come . Do they show you the Pan-tone book? and then going to try to hand paint lugz and shit .any suggestions?
Nah, no Pantone swatch books there buddy. Pantone is a print ink colour guide.
Usually they have some sample swatches lying around they can show you. The place I went had a board set up with about 80 colours on it.
As for the lugs… your going for a couple of colours on the frame? Would be simpler/easier to just go single colour but if you have something in mind, go ahead. I am not sure what paint would stick to powdercoating so talk to the powder coater about what you have in mind and he should be able to give you some advice, wether it be masking up the lugs or a certain type of paint that sticks to powdercoating.
