Ta, not sure if spell checked or if it was because I was looking at the unit in Tas when I found this
As you know, I also love that Ahearne. Omnium Cargo Mini is available in Oz though, and would be way cheaper and almost as rad.
(I can’t see this picture at work, so let me know if it’s no good and you care)
Yeah, they look rad.
Yeah, rad and all but I recon all your footy/porter/commuter/tourer bikes could do what this dose AND be a sweet bike in the “off season”. Just doesn’t seem like a whole lot of cargo would be going on that cargo bike… ya know?!? Still, like smoking, undeniably cool.
When I was growing up, my mate’s Dad had an old Toyota ute. It’d seat three in the front, and he’d pick us up from school in it, and we’d just chuck stuff in the back and take it around the place. I’d like one of these to use like that. I’d ride it as my everyday bike and just chuck stuff in it and take it around the place.
I’ve ridden the Mini Max and the Cargo, and they ride really well. It’s a sweet bike unloaded too ATMO, even if it looks like it might not be.
I’m commuting on my Cargo atm and it’s amazing. Faster than my other bikes, probably…
Also skip those Dutch Cargo people and go for Omafiets in Sydney. Ignoring the fact that they’ve used a photo of me to highlight their product without asking or anything, I’ve not heard much good about their representation of brands. Your choices though!
I have also heard this, and have only heard good things of Omafiets.
Just gonna throw this link up here in case anyone is actually interested.
So awesome.
Wonder if I could get a 24" threaded 1" fork with a long enough steerer, with disc mounts and put it on my touring build.
Mullet bike, short in the front, long at the back…
wut.
I don’t even know where to start with this jolan!
(The HaulinColin cargo conversions are excellent though)
Start at the two shark penis stem thing thats going on there…
+1
Zltn Zltn Zltn…
Guys, don’t worry. I’m not going to go ahead with this plan!
Linky was blocked at work, so just saw this now. I reckon that’s an awesome deal eh. If someone was after an everyday commuter/useful bike, I’d point them to this.
TruckBike (was actually put on a steamroller initially…)
So I got the old Bullitt fired up on Friday, just in time for Commuter beers. It’s so good! I’m loving it. I’d tested one before and found the handling to be a bit tricky. I had this in mind when I rode off on mine, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought and has become pretty easy pretty quickly. Taking a hand off the bars does feel more precarious though.
I’ve ridden it everywhere since, and installed the box. The box is massive. I’m not sure how much I like the box to be honest, but I’ve got same pretty exciting decoration plans for it, and yeah, it’s big, so it fits heaps. I’ll post a build thread later. Here’s a pic of how it looks for now though.
When I got home today I took Goose down to the park on his bike and holy shit it was weird going back to a regular bike. It felt way twitchier than I felt going the other way. Apparently you get used to this, but I suspect WNR is going to be pretty mad this week. Also, it does handle popping down a curb really well. I dropped off one on Nicholson next to the Carlton Gardens - big old granite curbing - and it was fine. Going up would be tougher though, and getting in and out of the bike cage is way harder, but not too bad.
^ Rad, Pete. Bags taking it for a spin!
