Nah, might put it together, see if I like it. If not, stick it up on the wall lol!
If it’s the Bruce I know the frame in question is a Laurie Dawes, all chrome fits the description too. Have you still got that bike at Deus?
Nah, we sold it for him. Thanks for chiming in, and yes yes it was Bruce’s Laurie Dawes that had the same flat bar stock for a seat stay bridge like on Blakey’s. That was the one feature (apart from the chrome) that i distinctly remember and thought very unique.
I know it’s kinda shitty but was wondering what it is. The Previous owner stripped most of the paint off in patches and cleared it. I like it but most people think it looks like poop. I have stripped more off as I was going to do the whole thing clear. Thinking about just getting a different, better frame.
It has stamped serial no’s on the drop outs saying OM10838
I don’t wanna rain on the conversion brigade dude, but there’s loads of brands with cast dropouts and 27" wheels that’ll forever be indistinguishable from another.
Much like the visp’s of today, and the SE lagers, cell bikes, hasa ss’s, mongooses, stuff like that, who would know what it is if you take all the paint and stickers off?
Not bagging it out though. In 20 or 30 years that’ll be what all the hipster kids will be putting hover-wheels on and that.
Very tactfully put Dylan.
thanks for telling it like it is Dylan. Didn’t think it would be anything special but thought it worth asking.
All good man. If it rides good, then ride it. No matter if it’s a bike worth a few grand or a bike worth a special place between your legs.
quick question.
so, i have a track frame. on the bottom bracket shell, it has BCM stamped.
ive tried to do a bit of research, and the only thing i can find out is, its most likely french.
the drop outs are gipiemme.
there is also a stamp on the lug that says “74A”
pretty sure its not a mcbain!
please see photos…
its not killing me that i dont know who made this…
i really like this frame, and its so beautiful to ride…
but im just a wee bit curious…
and i know FOABITCHEZ are a wealth of knowledge.

My Hillman has the same seat cluster lug marking “74A” in the same position and some of the other lugs have similar markings with different numbers. I think it is an Angle measurement.
The fork crown is the same on my unknown trackie except yours is filed out for max tightness.
Other than that, ballin frame!
Bocama lugs from France, yeah? Is the BCM anywhere else?
nah dude, checked the whole bike over, its only got those two stamps on the whole frame.
it was sold to me as a casati, but it had bullshit decals on, and no way was it anything resembling a casati.
double post.
Plenty of Italian frames used BoCaMa lugs, too. But if it’s rude and obnoxious, it’s most likely French. That’s all I’ve got.
I also have BCM lugs stamped including 74a on seat tube lug just as pictured on my aussie built road frame. Don’t think it will help much to narrow it down!
thanks guys, appreciated.
ill have to come to terms with never knowing its origin. .

If this is the one from bicycle recycle then it was cheap enough that it doesnt matter what it is.
Anyone want to way in on this one obviously a Malvern Star but any ideas on vintage or addition info
Gent I got it from said he has some Malvern Star’s made in the 80’s by Mr WhiteHorn but can’t remember if this is one of them.
Never seen a Malvern star panto’d on the front of the headtube lugs before.
Pity it’s to big for me…
Adrian, you’re unstoppable haha.
I once saw a Malvern Star road frame that was built by Daryl Perkins.
Frank McCallum who built frames for Kevin McBain made track frames for Malvern Star in the early 90’s:
In 1992, the name Malvern Star, re-entered the racing scene with one of the most expensive limited production bikes available. The bike, proudly displaying the Hubert Opperman signature along the top tube, is a bike that could re-establish the Company name at the top level of cycle sport. The frame is designed and manufactured in Tasmania by Frank McCallum, frame builder for Kevin McBain, in conjunction with McBain’s. It is made of Reynolds 708 Classic tubing, the frame having an overall racy look and feel to it. The price ticket is $4,300.
Not saying it is, but it might be.
